Antigua Immigration focus on Antigua Immigration Guide:
Arch Street Clock Tower
Arch Street Clock Tower is arguably one of the core areas of Antigua, lined with shops on all sides. If you are tired from exploring other parts of the city, you can find a street-side café here, sit down, and slowly savor the unique aroma of Guatemalan coffee. Furthermore, street performers often entertain here; whether it is music or comedy, it is sure to bring a smile to your face and immerse you in joy.
The most beautiful part of Antigua: the volcano above the arch looks like an oil painting, and with the street performers under the arch, every day feels like a blooming flower.
Central Park
Antigua's Central Park is the hub where various historical monuments of the town are concentrated, including the Cathedral, City Hall, and the Palace of the Captains General. It is the liveliest part of the old town, surrounded by historic buildings with colorful walls and decorations, making it well worth a slow walk and careful observation. This place is even more favored by Europeans and Americans than Guatemala City. Many head straight here as soon as they get off the plane. The various charming small hotels and bars are very attractive, especially at night.
Cerro de la Cruz (Hill of the Cross)
From a mountain path north of Antigua, you can climb the steps to the cross at the top of the hill to overlook the entire panoramic view. There used to be many bandits on the mountain robbing tourists, but now the Guatemalan government has stationed many police officers there, making it very safe.
Catedral de Santiago
The former Catedral de Santiago, was destroyed by an earthquake in 1773. Although most of the church is gone, you can still see its former glory from the ruins. Catedral de Santiago is sufficiently dilapidated and artistic, making it a great spot for photos. The small shop next door selling souvenirs and the street stalls outside are very welcoming, haha. They offer various local paintings, fabrics, knitted scarves, and more.
Pacaya Volcano
Pacaya volcano is an active volcano that is still in its active phase, located just an hour's drive from Antigua. There are local Day tours available, which can be done in half a day, usually costing 8-10 dollars, with an entrance fee of 50Q. It is recommended to sign up for a one-day tour as it is simpler; they usually depart in the evening, and you can choose to ride a horse up the mountain.
