Immigrate to Hong Kong focus on Hong Kong immigrant life: Hong Kong society has been actively promoting energy conservation and emission reduction in recent years. On the 12th, an energy-saving program for office buildings was launched, providing property managers with comprehensive energy benchmarking and energy-saving analysis to reduce electricity consumption in office buildings. Wong Kam-sing, Secretary for the Environment of the HKSAR Government, stated that Hong Kong's goal is to reduce energy intensity by 40% by 2025.

On the same day, the Hong Kong Green Building Council held the launch ceremony for the "Energy Benchmarking for Office Buildings" program, where Wong Kam-sing made the aforementioned remarks in his speech. He pointed out that buildings account for approximately 90% of Hong Kong's total electricity consumption, with commercial buildings, including offices, being major consumers.
Wong Kam-sing mentioned the "Hong Kong Energy Saving Plan for the Built Environment 2015-2025+" launched in May this year, which sets goals for Hong Kong for the next decade. The plan uses 2005 as the base year, with the goal of reducing Hong Kong's energy intensity by 40% by 2025. Therefore, improving energy efficiency in commercial buildings is of the utmost importance.
The "Energy Benchmarking for Office Buildings" program features two sets of online energy benchmarking tools. The certification scheme involves professional energy benchmarking and energy-saving tool assessors using the assessment tools to audit and analyze the electricity consumption status of office buildings and provide energy-saving recommendations. The organizers will issue rating certificates based on the building's energy performance.
The other set of online energy benchmarking tools is open to the public for free, providing basic energy performance assessment results based on the building's fundamental architectural features and constraints.
Wong Tin-cheung, Chairman of the Hong Kong Green Building Council, said that both sets of online energy benchmarking tools help improve the energy efficiency of office buildings and office users, thereby reducing energy intensity. He called on property management companies in Hong Kong to actively participate in the certification scheme and work together to lead the development of green property management in Hong Kong.
