Worldway Comprehensive Report: Recently, according to Portuguese media reports, the National Statistics Institute (INE) released an analysis of the purchasing power survey of 308 cities in Portugal. Among them, 32 cities are above the national average, with the center of Lisbon naturally ranking the highest. Those considering investment immigration to Portugal may want to look at properties in the Lisbon region.

If the national per capita purchasing power index is calculated as 100, the purchasing power of central Lisbon is 207.9, more than double the national level, securing the top spot without question and becoming the wealthiest city in Portugal. Ranking second is Oeiras, also in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, with a purchasing power of 180.7; the purchasing power of the entire Lisbon Metropolitan Area is 125.1. Ranking third is Porto (169.8), fourth is Faro (132.3), fifth is Coimbra (130.3), followed by São João da Madeira (130.1), Sines (128.03), Cascais (125.59), Aveiro (123.5), and Matosinhos (120.9).
The factors influencing a city's purchasing power are diverse. In summary, these factors mainly include: the income level of urban residents and its growth rate; the size of the urban population and its growth rate; and the savings rate and cash holdings of urban residents. As the wealthiest city in Portugal, Lisbon has an active real estate market, and property owners have more leverage in negotiating rental prices.
Worldway European immigration experts point out that since the Portuguese government launched the "Golden Residence Permit Program" in October 2012, Portugal's real estate market has continued to recover steadily. The immigration act stipulates that purchasing at least 500,000 euros worth of property in Portugal allows one to apply for a Portuguese Golden Residence Visa, thereby obtaining legal immigration status in Portugal.
