Singapore Immigration focuses on Singapore Immigration Life: Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) recently announced plans to invest USD 285 million to create the country's largest data center. This plan will establish a Tier 3+ data center in Jurong, Singapore, aimed at meeting the growing demand for hosting and cloud services in the country.
The President of SingTel, Zhang Xuecai, stated that the establishment of the new data center aims to meet the critical hosting needs of the financial services industry, government agencies, as well as cloud and network service providers. This center will help SingTel attract top-tier international cloud providers, further solidifying Singapore's central position in cloud computing and cloud innovation.
It is reported that the data center will cover an area of approximately 570,000 square feet, offering advantages such as high security, privacy, and the capability for hosting. The center is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2016, at which point it will provide various high-tech services, including cloud solutions, smart applications, and data analytics platforms. The data center will be equipped with 36 megawatts of power to facilitate users in effectively scaling virtualization technologies and blade servers. With the increasing network threats, users can fully leverage SingTel's cybersecurity capabilities to maintain the security of their cloud infrastructure, data, and networks.
Additionally, users will benefit from SingTel's Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network and public network connectivity services, as well as the ability to utilize SingTel's rapid deployment and on-demand software-defined networking solutions.
Upon completion of the data center, SingTel will have a total of 13 data centers in the Asia-Pacific region, with 9 located in Singapore, and 2 each in Hong Kong and Australia.
