U.S. Immigration focuses on U.S. Immigration Life: U.S. Army four-star general and Commander of the Pacific Command, Harris, visited China on November 2, meeting with Chinese military leaders and touring military facilities. This visit marks his first official trip to China since assuming command of the Pacific Command.
According to U.S. media reports, Harris will tour military facilities in China, meet with senior generals of the People's Liberation Army, discuss future military exchanges between the two armies, enhance transparency between the U.S. and Chinese militaries, and build mutual trust to reduce the risk of accidental conflict. This visit was planned long ago and was not arranged specifically. Previously, a spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Defense also confirmed that Harris's visit to China was scheduled according to the military exchange plan between China and the U.S. for this year.
After analysis, it was found that among U.S. four-star generals, there are 13 serving at overseas military bases, of which 7 are deployed in the Asia-Pacific region, accounting for approximately 54% of overseas military bases. Xu Hui, Deputy Dean of the National Defense University’s Defense College, believes that the U.S. is accelerating its strategic shift eastward, significantly enhancing the strategic status of its military bases in the Asia-Pacific. The U.S. Asia-Pacific rebalancing strategy is a comprehensive balancing strategy, through which the U.S. maintains its leadership position.
