Spain Immigration Guide: The Government of Catalonia and the Barcelona City Council held a press conference at the headquarters of Casa Asia in Barcelona on October 4th to officially launch the first practical guide for Chinese investors and entrepreneurs, as the local government seeks to better attract Chinese investment.
The full title of the guide is "Catalonia—Home to Barcelona: A Practical Guide for Chinese Investors." Available in both Chinese and English, it includes various practical information related to opening a business locally, such as details on the Catalonia region ranging from trade culture to financial and labor regulations, procedures for foreigners to apply for work and residence visas, and essential information for establishing a Chinese company in Catalonia. Furthermore, the guide consolidates a list of relevant government agencies, international schools, and various service companies, along with their contact information.
Chen Yibin, an economic advisor at the Barcelona City Council's Department of Economic Promotion, stated in an interview with Xinhua News Agency that the production of this guide was initiated by the Government of Catalonia and the Barcelona City Council, with support from Casa Asia and the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Spain. As policies are adjusted and economic data changes, the guide will continue to be updated to provide Chinese investors with the most timely and accurate information possible.
The guide notes that Catalonia is the region with the largest bilateral trade volume between Spain and China, accounting for approximately 30% of the total trade between the two countries. The main products imported by the region from China include textiles, equipment, chemical products, and consumer electronics. The region's primary exports to China include chemical products, industrial technology products, raw materials, automobiles and automotive parts, as well as food and beverages.
