Hong Kong Immigration pays attention to Hong Kong Immigration Education: The Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government on the 19th stated that it welcomes the Ministry of Education's announcement of the specific arrangements for the 2016 plan for certain mainland universities to admit Hong Kong students without examination.
According to the plan announced by the Ministry of Education for 2016, the number of participating mainland higher education institutions has increased to 84, which is 6 more than last year, and the institutions will also consider students with special educational needs during the admission process.
It is reported that the additional 6 institutions are Nanchang University, Guangzhou Medical University, Guangxi University (Weibo), Guangxi University of Chinese Medicine, Guangxi Normal University (Weibo), and Guangxi Medical University. The participating institutions are distributed across 14 provinces and municipalities in mainland China and 1 autonomous region, providing Hong Kong students with more diverse choices.
It is known that the Ministry of Education and the Education Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government will hold an exhibition on the 7th and 8th of next month at the Kowloon Bay WorldWay and Exhibition Centre, allowing students and parents (Weibo) to learn about the details of the plan.
A spokesperson for the Education Bureau stated that the admission plan will select Hong Kong students based on their Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination results, without requiring them to take the mainland joint entrance examination, thereby reducing the pressure on students and allowing them to focus more on the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination.
In addition, the Education Bureau has launched the "Mainland University Admission Subsidy Scheme" to provide financial assistance to Hong Kong students who have been admitted to mainland bachelor's degree programs through the admission plan without examination.
