Portugal Immigration focus on Portugal's economic trends: According to a report by the Portuguese "Economic Daily", in order to cope with the end of the EU milk quota system on March 31 this year, and the crisis triggered by the Russian government's ban on imports of Western dairy and pork products in August last year, the European Commission announced a package of measures totaling 500 million euros last week to provide financial support to producers who have suffered losses due to the collapse in product prices. Of this, 420 million euros will be used to subsidize milk and dairy producers, and the remaining 80 million euros will be used to subsidize pork producers. The specific allocation plans are the responsibility of each EU member state government. Under this subsidy program, Portugal will receive 4.8 million euros, with the subsidy amount calculated based on 2014 production quotas.

Fernando Cardoso, Secretary-General of the Portuguese Federation of Milk and Dairy Products, stated, "The funds received by Portugal are very low, especially compared to Spain. Spain's milk production is three times that of Portugal, but the funds it received are five times more than Portugal's."
