Latvia Immigration and Business: According to a report by the Baltic News Service on August 24, Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs stated that the technical negotiations for Latvia's accession to the OECD are progressing smoothly and satisfactorily.

The Latvian Foreign Minister emphasized that one of the most challenging issues in the current negotiations concerns when the Law on State-Owned Enterprise Reform will be passed. According to the draft law, supervisory boards should be established in state-owned enterprises in 2016. As planned, Latvia aims to conclude technical negotiations this year and strives to join the OECD in 2016.
