Irish Immigration Business: Bohai Leasing, a subsidiary of Chinese aviation and freight giant HNA Group, has acquired the Irish aircraft leasing company Avolon for approximately $2.5 billion. Bohai Leasing will pay $31 per share in the transaction, which includes assuming Avolon's debt. Avolon is headquartered in Dublin, with a total value of approximately $7.6 billion. The company owns or manages 152 aircraft. As of June, Avolon has also ordered more than 100 additional aircraft. With local shipping companies introducing more shipping routes, Chinese leasing companies have experienced significant expansion. Most of these leasing companies have received support from state-owned banks. Avolon Chairman Denis Nayden stated in a statement, "We believe Bohai can enhance Avolon's image, positioning, and relationships in the Chinese aviation market. We also believe that the Chinese market will provide attractive opportunities in the global aviation sector over the next 20 years."
