Immigration and Business in Ireland: Staff working in the IT department of Allied Irish Banks (AIB) have voted to accept the bank's outsourcing proposal. This means approximately 220 employees will be transferred to Infosys, while Wipro will provide technical support services. The vote was also extended to members of the Irish Bank Officials Association (IBOA) involved in AIB's IT department. The IBOA explained that the purpose of the transfer is to improve job security for employees and protect their pension benefits. As early as June, AIB assured its employees that its plan to outsource numerous functions within its application development and maintenance departments would not lead to layoffs.
