UK Immigration and Business: According to British media reports, between January and July 2015, UK apparel retailers spent £41.2 million on online keyword-paid search advertising, a 23% increase from £33.6 million in the same period last year.

Digital marketing intelligence firm AdGooroo ranked total advertising expenditure after studying 2,288 text ads from Google.co.uk on desktop. It noted that this growth does not align with broader online advertising trends, as UK advertisers spent £773 million on advertising between January and July 2015, compared to £867 million during the same period last year.
The vast majority of the top 20 apparel advertisers in the UK are domestic brands. For instance, John Lewis spent £976,000, Asos spent £885,000, and Marks & Spencer each spent £803,000, while Amazon topped the list for apparel keyword advertising spend in the first seven months of this year with a significant lead of £1.6 million.
It is reported that most of the top 20 advertisers are multi-channel retailers. The N Brown Group spent £1.9 million on apparel advertising during this period, with all four of its websites making it into the top 20: Simply Be (£687,000), Jacamo (£505,000), Marisota (£379,000), and Fashion World (£353,000).
In addition, four footwear retailers also ranked in the top 20: Nike (£1.04 million), Schuh (£615,000), Adidas (£572,000), and Clarks (£541,000). Meanwhile, luxury retailers Net-a-Porter and Ted Baker entered the top 20 with advertising spends of £484,000 and £364,000, respectively.
The survey report indicates that the average cost-per-click and click-through rate for apparel keyword searches in the UK have also increased this year. The average cost-per-click was £0.32 this year compared to £0.30 last year, and the click-through rate grew to 4.62% this year from 4.42% last year.
