Cyprus immigration perspective on doing business in Cyprus: The European Commission approved the multi-year Greece-Cyprus cross-border cooperation program on the 29th, involving approximately 54 million euros (about 59.2 million US dollars).

According to the communique released by the European Commission, the program covers nine regions in Greece, including the islands of Samos and Lesbos, as well as the entire territory of Cyprus. It aims to help Greece and Cyprus further create jobs, improve infrastructure, protect the environment, and boost the local economy.
According to the European Commission, 46 million euros (about 50.49 million US dollars) of the investment for the Greece-Cyprus cross-border cooperation program comes from the European Regional Development Fund, focusing on three key areas: entrepreneurship and enhancing business competitiveness, improving energy efficiency and developing sustainable transport, and environmental protection.
The EU hopes that Greece and Cyprus can leverage this to achieve results in enhancing information sharing between the business and public sectors, strengthening connectivity in border regions, improving maritime spatial planning, developing joint tourism products, and promoting integrated waste management.
This cross-border cooperation program is part of the 2014-2020 EU Interregional Cooperation Program framework, which involves 10.1 billion euros (about 11.1 billion US dollars) and includes hundreds of interregional cooperation projects.
