After 78 Years, American Twin Sisters Finally Reunite

Anne and Elizabeth are twin sisters, and the last photo of them together was as babies in their mother's arms. Separated at 20 weeks, they were forced apart and grew up in different families and countries across the Atlantic. One never knew she had a sister, while the other was unaware of where her adopted twin sister was.

This reunion was their first conversation with each other, yet their life trajectories were almost parallel. Both married men named Jim, converted to religion, became grandmothers, and later became widows. When the sisters opened their respective photo albums, they discovered that both liked to pose in the same way in front of the camera, and even when they embraced upon meeting, they coincidentally exclaimed, "How charming!"

The story of the sisters is quite legendary. They were born on February 28, 1936, in Hampshire, England. Their father was a soldier stationed nearby who fell in love with a maid from a wealthy family named Aris Lambo, resulting in her pregnancy. The father never had the chance to meet his two daughters, and Aris lost her job due to the pregnancy. Seeing no way to raise both daughters, Aris had to give one daughter to a local couple, who renamed the child Anne.

Elizabeth, on the other hand, could not be adopted due to a slight curvature of her spine. Therefore, Aris raised her with the help of friends and an aunt. When she was 15, Aris told Elizabeth that she had a twin sister. However, Elizabeth did not attempt to search for her sister while her mother was still alive. She later married an American sailor, and they moved to Portland, Oregon.

Anne also learned from her adoptive mother that she was adopted, but it was only with her daughter's help that she found out about Elizabeth. After 78 years, the two sisters finally reunited, and the scene was very touching.
