When the twins, Hussein and Hassan, were born, their organs, including their lungs and bladders, were conjoined. In 2010, at just 5 months old, they underwent a highly risky and incredible separation surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital. When they were transferred to a London hospital, they required several more surgeries due to wounds that had not fully healed. Fortunately, they both survived. To care for the twins, their parents, Azzedine and Angie, quit their jobs. While vacationing in Florida, the twins had the opportunity to have a close encounter with the amputee dolphin.

Winter the dolphin is the star of the movie Dolphin Tale and the brothers' favorite movie star. They watched the dolphin's performance accompanied by the dolphin's trainer and two prosthetic experts.
