Investing in real estate in Greece: The poignant love story of the lead characters in the movie 'Titanic' is reenacted in real life with the sinking of the Greek ferry 'Samina' after hitting a rock in the Aegean Sea. This maritime disaster also forged a cross-border romance. Two strangers supported each other at the edge of life and death, sparking love, and after being rescued, they decided to marry.
Peter, born in Australia, and Santalia, a baker from Brazil, were both passengers on the ferry. When the ship unexpectedly struck a reef and sank, the two were left helplessly bobbing in the sea wearing only life jackets. In this critical moment, Santalia tightly grasped Peter's life jacket while encouraging the unfamiliar Peter to survive. Fortunately, the two were rescued by fishermen.
Peter said: "If it weren't for Santalia, I would have died in the sea; while floating, he continuously encouraged me, saying we would get through this together." The experience of facing life and death sparked romantic feelings between them, and two days after being rescued, Santalia proposed to Peter, who gladly accepted.
