Life in the U.S.: According to foreign media reports on July 28, Sam Gerson from the United States and his companions caught a massive grouper weighing 300 pounds (approximately 136 kg) while fishing off the coast of Cape Canaveral, Florida. They released the fish after taking a commemorative photo.

After a morning of watching his friends catch cobia, drum, bonito, and more, Gerson decided to try deep-sea fishing at a shipwreck site. Gerson said, "I dropped my line into the water until it hit the bottom, but within seconds, I felt a violent tug. As I started to reel in, the rod bent until the tip was almost in the water. Soon, I was no longer being jerked around violently, but the reel began spinning at an incredible speed, and the line was released rapidly."
Later, Gerson and his friends spent an hour trying to haul up this mysterious giant. They wondered if it was a shark, a grouper, or if they had hooked the entire shipwreck at the bottom of the waters beneath their boat. After an hour of sweating, the mysterious giant finally surfaced—a massive grouper. According to the fishermen's estimates, it weighed over 300 pounds (approximately 136 kg) and was about 50 years old. Gerson and his companions jokingly called it a "dinosaur."
Before releasing the giant grouper, Gerson jumped into the water to take a photo with the creature. He said, "I could swim along its beautiful body and touch its huge scales. After the photo, I knew it was time for our new friend to return to its own world, back to the sea to enjoy its undisputed status as king. With a few powerful swings of its tail, it swam away."
