Tesla Trade-in Program Available Only in Hong Kong Within Asia

      Life in Hong Kong: Consumers in Hong Kong can now trade in their vehicles to purchase new Tesla Model S models at regional dealerships. In April of this year, Tesla announced that Tesla Model S owners in Hong Kong could sell their vehicles back to Tesla at 75% of the base price between 36 and 37 months after purchase.

Tesla Trade-in Program Available Only in Hong Kong Within Asia

      Currently, the price of a Tesla Model S 70D in Hong Kong is HK$619,000; if purchased through Tesla's financing plan, the monthly payment is HK$8,569. This past August, Tesla introduced the P85D in Hong Kong.

      To promote electric vehicles, the SAR government has exempted electric vehicles from the first registration tax, a policy that remains effective until March 2017. According to Tesla's data, there were fewer than 600 electric vehicles in Hong Kong by the end of 2013. Statistics from the SAR government show that as of May 2015, the number of electric vehicles in Hong Kong had nearly tripled, exceeding 2,250 units. (Source: South China Morning Post)
