Organized by the Film Programmes Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of Hong Kong and curated by veteran filmmaker Law Wai-ming, the "World Cinema Classics Retrospective 2015: Cinema of Moral Anxiety - Polish Cinema" will be held at the Hong Kong Film Archive from September 25 to October 25.
The program features 14 films of moral anxiety directed by eight Polish directors, including "The Host" by Feliks Falk, "Provincial Actors" by Agnieszka Holland, and "Camera Buff" by Krzysztof Kieślowski.
In conjunction with the screenings, Law Wai-ming, along with film critics Cheng Chuen-wai and Ka Ming, will host a seminar titled "Cinema of Moral Anxiety: Polish Cinema" at the Hong Kong Film Archive Cinema on September 26 at 4:30 PM. The seminar will be conducted in Cantonese with free admission. In addition, the Film Programmes Office will hold three workshops to provide audiences with a deeper understanding of the relationship between Polish cinema and the politics and culture of that era.
