On June 4, 2013, Ambassador to Vanuatu Xie Bohua met with Galbraith, head of the Singapore branch of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ), and corporate client manager Lin Dekun.

Galbraith introduced the cross-border trade RMB settlement services provided by ANZ in Vanuatu and expressed hope that the Embassy would provide strong support for this initiative.

Ambassador Xie expressed his appreciation for ANZ being the first bank in Vanuatu to launch RMB-denominated settlement services, noting that this move will help promote the further development of trade between China and Vanuatu. The two sides also exchanged views on the possibility of further expanding ANZ's RMB operations in Vanuatu. First Secretary Chen Liyi, head of the Economic and Commercial Section of the Embassy, attended the meeting.
