Dr. Winner Xing provided an in-depth analysis and discussion on "The Three Major Issues Affecting Chinese Immigrant Investors in 2017" and pointed out that these three major issues are: depreciation of the Renminbi, foreign exchange controls, and the increase in EB-5 investment amounts.
1. The Impact of Renminbi Depreciation on Chinese Immigrant Investors
The depreciation of the Renminbi creates a "push" for Chinese immigrant investors, prompting them to "move out"; on the other hand, the appreciation of the US dollar creates a pull, attracting Chinese investors to "move in".
The combination of these two forces has led to a new motivation for immigration, namely asset allocation motivation. In other words, asset allocation is the primary motivation for their immigration investment. More and more people are investing not for a green card, but for investment and asset allocation.
As early as last January, Worldway proposed the concept of "2016 Asset Allocation Year" to guide Chinese investors to shift their asset allocation from being limited to the Chinese mainland to cross-border investments, expanding their international perspective on asset allocation.
2. The Impact of Foreign Exchange Controls on Chinese Immigrant Investors
Foreign exchange controls slow down the speed of currency exchange and remittance for immigration investments, and the slowdown in EB-5 remittance, coupled with the slow approval of I-526, will lead more developers to prefer to release funds early. In this case, it is foreseeable that EB-5 projects with sample approvals or improved bridge financing plans will be more favored by EB-5 investors.
Currently, proposals for EB-5 price increases and shutdowns have been successively released. In the face of the upcoming expiration of the bill on April 28 and the foreign exchange controls in China on July 1, investors interested in immigrating to the US should act quickly to choose projects that have received sample approvals and complete their investments and remittances as soon as possible.
3. The Impact of the Increase in EB-5 Investment Amounts on Chinese Immigrant Investors
First, the increase in investment thresholds will create an "exclusion effect" for some small and medium investors. Secondly, the increase in investment thresholds will lead to a new trend of high-end investors in US investment immigration.
Overall, with the imminent increase in EB-5 prices in 2017, along with the Federal Reserve's interest rate hikes, the US dollar entering an appreciation phase, the implementation of CRS in 101 tax jurisdictions, and the introduction of Trump's new tax policy, EB-5 investments will become increasingly attractive to high-end investors, even super investors, thus gradually presenting a new trend of high-end EB-5 investors.
Worldway Immigration Group, with its years of rich experience in investment immigration and understanding of financial regulations and operational procedures, can inform EB-5 investors of legal and compliant methods for currency exchange and remittance, facilitating investors to expedite their remittance speed under legal and compliant conditions. Currently, Worldway has three EB-5 projects that have received sample approvals, which are in high demand. For inquiries: 400-138-2929.
