There are two mobile service providers, Digicel and LIME, offering both monthly subscription and prepaid plans. Long-distance and roaming charges are waived within the CARICOM region. Chinese mobile users with international roaming services enabled can also use their phones locally. Internet connectivity in Dominica is relatively well-developed. Local hotels such as Fort Young and Garraway provide high-speed internet access, with Wi-Fi coverage available in lobbies and restaurants. Healthcare in Dominica is limited; there are only two public hospitals, one in the capital, Roseau, and the other in the second-largest city, Portsmouth. These facilities have outdated equipment, staff shortages, and limited services, with medications primarily imported from countries like the United States and France. Medications provided by public hospitals are generally free; however, patients must purchase any medication unavailable at the hospital from a pharmacy themselves. Treatment at private clinics must be paid for out-of-pocket. Traditional local herbal medicine is also used. There are few foreigners in Dominica, and they receive the same medical treatment as local citizens without strict health insurance requirements.  Mosquitoes are common during the rainy season in Dominica. A minor outbreak of dengue fever occurred in 2010; travelers are advised to bring mosquito repellent products such as cooling oil or essential balm.
