Philippine Immigration Life: To celebrate the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Philippines, the "Dazzling Chinese Art" watercolor and oil painting exhibition, co-hosted by the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs, the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the APEC Business Advisory Council, and the Philippine Institute for Development Studies, officially opened at the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs on the afternoon of October 12. Philippine Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs Laura Del Rosario, Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Zhao Jianhua, Honorary President of the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Li Rongqiong, and nearly 100 other dignitaries and foreign envoys attended the opening ceremony and ribbon-cutting.
In his speech, Ambassador Zhao Jianhua stated that a good painting requires the skillful use of color. It often compels the artist to transcend the limitations of black and white, and to artistically apply or handle different colors.
Good diplomacy requires the skillful application of art. Differences in diplomatic relations should be handled artistically, seeking common ground while reserving differences, to ensure that the overall relationship remains beautiful. In this sense, this exhibition is highly meaningful; it not only brings spiritual elevation but also preserves and promotes the relationship between the two countries and their peoples in an artistic way.
While visiting the exhibition, Ambassador Zhao Jianhua said, "I am very optimistic about the future of the relationship between our two countries. These exhibited works are all very beautiful, and I also believe that the relationship between our two countries will remain beautiful forever."
This exhibition features over 50 works by 8 Filipino artists, reflecting a rich Chinese style. The exhibition will be on display at the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs from October 12 and will conclude on October 16.
