Cyprus

Cyprus is an island nation in the Mediterranean, with a Mediterranean climate. Summer temperatures generally hover around 32 degrees; winter often brings rain, with temperatures around 15 degrees, with a minimum of 6 degrees.  The summer lasts relatively long, typically from April to October. Due to the high temperatures, people dress simply, with men generally wearing T-shirts or short-sleeved shirts, while women often wear dresses or tank tops, enjoying ample sunshine. In winter, due to heating facilities in homes, companies, schools, and cars, many people only wear a thicker outer garment over a shirt. Cyprus has a high standard of living, and high-end fashion stores from abroad are also gathered here, with various clothing stores visible on the city's commercial streets. The discount period around Christmas will delight those who love luxury brands.

In Cyprus, there are no high-rise buildings, generally around 5 to 6 floors, but one thing that cannot be compared to domestic buildings is that almost all buildings over 3 floors are equipped with elevators, which is very convenient. The " wealthy area " is located in the suburbs of the capital Nicosia, mostly consisting of two-story villas, each with a garden, large or small, and some even have swimming pools; the appearance is pleasing to the eye. Due to the sparse population in Cyprus, living space is relatively spacious, and foreign students can easily find rental housing. Chinese students typically have two types of housing: one is an apartment, which can be one-bedroom, two-bedroom, or three-bedroom, allowing for individual living or sharing with others; the other is an independent small building, usually with 3-4 bedrooms, along with a bathroom, kitchen, living room, etc. (images of such houses can be found in the photo collection). Cyprus has strong sunlight, and solar energy equipment is quite common, with most homes providing hot water throughout the day. Most Cypriot households are very tidy.

The main modes of transportation in Cyprus are cars, motorcycles, and bicycles. The advantage of buses is their low cost, while the disadvantage is strict time limitations. Taxi services are comfortable, convenient, fast, and available on demand, but they are expensive. There is also a telephone taxi service where you inform them of your location, the time you need, and your destination, and the company's car will pick you up at the specified time and take you to your destination, but the downside is waiting, as a typical car will wait for at least 4 to 5 people before departing.
