Antigua Immigration focus on Antigua Education: As a member of the Commonwealth, Antigua and Barbuda not only fully inherits the authentic British education system but also possesses insurmountable educational advantages compared to other countries:

Primary Education

Antigua and Barbuda implements a British-style education model, with compulsory education for primary and secondary schools. Primary education begins at age 5 and lasts for 6 years. Secondary education begins at age 11 and lasts for 5 years, including 3 years of junior high school and 2 years of senior high school. The entire compulsory education stage spans from ages 5 to 17, totaling 12 years. After completing secondary school, students can pass examinations to enter local higher education institutions or choose to transfer directly to other Commonwealth countries to continue their studies. Most schools are managed by the government.

Higher Education

The American University of Antigua (AUA) is an innovative and rapidly growing medical university established in 2004. It is one of the three medical schools in the Caribbean recognized by the Florida Department of Education, the New York State Education Department, the Medical Board of California, and the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and Other Health Professions. The school enjoys a high reputation and recognition in North America.

The University of Health Sciences Antigua (UHSA) is a private, for-profit medical school founded in 1982, located in Dow's Hill near Falmouth, Antigua. UHSA grants its graduates a Doctor of Medicine degree. The Dow's Hill campus is 19.3 kilometers from the capital, St. John's, and was once a space tracking station for NASA. The school is recognized by the government of Antigua and Barbuda, listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools, and also included in the Avicenna Directory of Medical Schools.

Antigua State College | The University of The West Indies. Established by the Antiguan government, it was formed in 1972 by the merger of the Technical College and the Teacher Training College. It provides foundational education and some vocational education for pre-university students. The University of the West Indies (UWI) Antigua campus is an excellent choice. This institution has produced a Nobel Laureate in Literature, and a total of eight Caribbean prime ministers have graduated from this university. Its academic level is well-known in the North and Central American region, and its degrees are highly recognized worldwide.

Under the Canadian Commonwealth Scholarship Plan, citizens or permanent residents of Antigua can receive scholarships to study in Commonwealth countries such as the United Kingdom and Canada. Medical students can directly obtain opportunities for clinical work and internships in the United States and Canada, as well as obtain ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates) certification. The dream of attending medical school, which may be difficult to realize for international students in the United States and Canada, can be achieved here!

In addition, the island also hosts the Antigua and Barbuda Institute of Information Technology (http://abiit.edu.ag/), the Antigua and Barbuda Hospitality Training Institute (ABHTI), and the University of the West Indies Open Campus, all of which have a good reputation in the Caribbean region.
