As of now, China Asset Management, ICBC Credit Suisse, Invesco Great Wall, GF Fund Management, HSBC Jintrust, Bank of China, Southern Asset Management, Invesco Great Wall, and E Fund have confirmed that they have submitted mutual recognition applications to the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, with each firm reporting between 1 to 3 funds, totaling around sixteen to seventeen confirmed funds.
On August 19, ICBC Credit Suisse announced that its two funds, ICBC Stable Growth Mixed Fund and ICBC Core Value Mixed Fund, will add an H class fund share category effective immediately, along with modifications to the fund contract and custody agreement.
According to the announcement, the addition of the H class shares is "to meet the investment needs of clients in Hong Kong," and the newly added H class fund share category will only be sold in the Hong Kong region. Thus, these two funds are confirmed to be the pioneer funds that ICBC Credit Suisse plans to issue in Hong Kong after the mutual recognition of Mainland and Hong Kong funds, and they are likely to be among the first products for Mainland funds to "go south."
In addition to the aforementioned two funds from ICBC Credit Suisse, previous announcements have also been made for the addition of H class shares for funds such as China Asset Management's Huibao Fund, China Asset Management's Xinghua Fund, GF Fund Management's Juyou Fund, Invesco Great Wall's Emerging Power Mixed Fund, Invesco Great Wall's Dual Income Balanced Mixed Fund, Invesco Great Wall's Industry Rotation Mixed Fund, Da Cheng's Domestic Demand Growth Mixed Fund, Bank of China's Continuous Growth Mixed Fund, and Bank of China's Income Mixed Fund, all of which have announced the addition of H class shares for sale in Hong Kong. Additionally, HSBC Jintrust's large-cap fund and four other funds have also completed their applications to the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission and are expected to launch in October.
