In the coming year, the Guangdong-Hong Kong Task Force will improve the intellectual property cooperation project mechanism and intellectual property guidance services, strengthen cross-border protection cooperation, promote intellectual property trade cooperation, advance intellectual property exchanges, and carry out intellectual property publicity and education in both regions.
At the meeting, representatives from both sides summarized the projects completed in the past year, including holding the Guangdong-Hong Kong Intellectual Property and Small and Medium Enterprises Development Seminar and promoting exchange activities for the development of Guangdong-Hong Kong intellectual property trade; they also reported on the cooperation plans for the coming year, including encouraging exchanges and cooperation between the e-commerce and trademark industries in both regions, and jointly producing public service advertisements for copyright protection.
Last year, law enforcement agencies from both regions continued to work closely together to strengthen the crackdown on cross-border infringement activities under a collaborative handling mechanism.
The Director of the Intellectual Property Department, Leung Ka-lee, stated at a press conference that promoting Guangdong-Hong Kong intellectual property trade is the focus of the Task Force's next phase of cooperation, believing that the effective operation of intellectual property can further promote intellectual property trade and also contribute to the economic development of both regions.
