On August 13, the Irish national broadcaster reported that the renowned accounting firm Goodbody stated that Ireland is currently experiencing the fastest economic growth since the 1990s. Due to strong domestic demand, Ireland's economy is expected to grow by 5.5% in 2015. This round of economic growth is different from the pre-crisis situation. The economic growth during the crisis was primarily driven by borrowing. In contrast, this round of economic growth is accompanied by low inflation and low borrowing. Goodbody's Chief Economist, Dermot O'Leary, predicts that due to the increase in consumer confidence and disposable income levels, this round of economic growth in Ireland can be sustained at least until 2017.
