Moving to Hong Kong, focusing on education: City University of Hong Kong has indeed joined the unified admission registration and recruitment system of the mainland. We are listed among the first batch of key universities in the country, enrolled in the early admission round. Therefore, candidates need to pay attention when applying: when filling in City University of Hong Kong as a preference, it must be listed as the first choice in the early admission round; we do not accept candidates who list it as their second choice.
In fact, early admission does not affect the subsequent recruitment of candidates. So if a candidate applies to City University and does not get admitted, we will return the application file to the examination authority, and students can continue to participate in subsequent admissions.
The admission standards are straightforward; the basic requirement is to meet the key first-tier line of various provinces and municipalities. However, our requirements for English may be relatively high. 150 points is the full score, and we require a score of at least 120 points. Some specific majors, such as Law, require a score of 135 points, while majors in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences require a score of at least 125 points.
Overall, liberal arts students should aim to score around 70 points above the first-tier line, while science students should score above 80 points. However, English is a hard criterion, and a score of at least 120 points is mandatory.
Additionally, according to the planned quotas of each province, the admission authorities will issue offers starting from the highest scores to the lowest scores based on the 120% line. There are no interviews arranged, and we do not accept requests for retraction of application files. I suggest candidates consider thoroughly with their families before applying, taking into account their economic environment, academic performance, and whether they are suited to go to Hong Kong, and to have a comprehensive consideration in advance.
